French Chef and Sommelier, Jean Christophe “J.C.” Dupire, has been working in the restaurant industry for over fifteen years.

A native of Lille, France, he received his degree in cooking, wine expertise and restaurant management from the Michel Servet Culinary School, then started his own “Tour De France”, spending several years traveling throughout the southern regions, working at many distinguished restaurants including Restaurant Le Normandy near Marseille, La Tornadia on the isle of Corsica and La Lorraine in Luxembourg.

Five years later, J.C. returned to his native homeland of Flanders to integrate his experiences at some of the most notable restaurants in Lille: L’Auberge de la Marque and Le Bistro du Croise, serving as Director of the restaurant, managing the staff and helping to create innovative, seasonal and regional menus. He added another skill to his resume when he served as Sommelier at Alcide, one of the oldest and most renowned restaurants in the North of France.

In 1999, the owners of Alcide offered him an opportunity to participate in a new venture: to serve as both manager and Sommelier for the opening of a new French bistro and café, Lilly’s in Venice, California. One year later, the restaurant was awarded the “2000 Audience Winner” for “Best French Restaurant”, with a special mention regarding the “exhaustive wine list”.

In 2004, after working and living in Los Angeles for five years, J.C. created Saveurs, a French-inspired culinary business, realizing his goal to offer customers a professional restaurant experience in the privacy of their own homes.

Over the many years of working in this industry, J.C. has gathered key elements and techniques to meet the unique needs of his clients, even traveling as far as Botswana and South Africa, where he was recently hired for the fourth year in a row, by a private client of foreign royalty, to oversee the dining room on an African photo safari. He excels at efficient service, combining solid culinary skills with his passion for hospitality and the art of fine cuisine, insuring an elegant evening so you can relax while entertaining in the comfort of your own home.
